Collette Vacations Announces New Europe Tour for 2012

07/14/2011 - Treasures of Tuscany & Provence combines two favorite regions into one unique Europe tour.

Collette Vacations announces a new Europe tour to their list of 130 vacation options on all seven continents. Treasures of Tuscany & Provence highlights three countries including Italy, France, and Monaco and debuts in May 2012. The starting rate is $2199, per person, land only.

“Both the Tuscany and Provence regions are known for their great food and wines, friendly locals, outdoor markets, medieval and renaissance architecture and gorgeous landscapes,” says Annette Morejon, Collette Vacations Product Manager. “This is a great tour for those going to Europe for the first time.”

Treasures of Tuscany & Provence spends 3 nights in Provence, 2 nights in Monaco and 3 nights in Tuscany. The tour features a visit to the fishing villages and rugged coastline of Italy’s Cinque Terre by train; walking tours through the historic, walled city of Avignon in France and Italy’s Siena and Florence; including a visit to the world-famous Academy Gallery in Florence to see Michelangelo’s Statue of David.

Travel through some of Europe’s most scenic roads, as you discover the rolling hills and perched villages of Provence, the scenic rock coast of Monaco and the French and Italian Rivieras, and the landscapes of vineyards and olive groves of Tuscany. Highlights that make this vacation memorable include the benefit of Whisper Headsets, designed for better communication between the group and their guides throughout the tour; regional wine with all included dinners; a trip to a perfumery in the medieval village of Eze; a visit to a Chianti Winery housed in one of Tuscany’s most beautiful medieval castles; and several stops at outdoor markets in Provence. While in Provence, guests will enjoy a visit to areas immortalized by famous artists, including a stroll through the Cézanne Trail in Aix-en-Provence and places made famous in Van Gogh’s paintings while in Arles. You will also step way back in time to the age of the Romans, while visiting one of southern France’s most unique monuments, the Pont du Gard Aqueduct. On Day 6 of this 10-day tour, a panoramic tour of Monaco highlights its famous Casino, 13th century Prince’s Palace, and the Cathedral of Monaco.
